Flash of Life

Hello, my name is Jasmin. I was born on July 28, 1995, in Ventura, but I was raised in Santa Paula. I attended seven different schools, out of the seven I attended one Catholic school. My seventh grade year, my family decided to move eight hours north to a town called Kelseyville. It was a huge change for me, considering I went from living in a semi busy town to an extremely small country town, with livestock everywhere. After living in Kelseyville for seven months, my family, mainly me, got homesick and decided to move back to Santa Paula. Growing up my whole family has always been really close to each other, so I was heartbroken being away from my grandparents, aunts, uncles, and cousins. With that said, I was extremely happy when my parents decided to move back to Santa Paula. I continued the rest of my seventh grade year at a Catholic school. After middle school, I attended Santa Paula High School. I was involved in Yearbook and ASB, and Cheerleading. After graduating from high school in 2013, I went on to attend classes at Oxnard College.
I am still currently attending Culinary Art classes at Oxnard college. Aside from being a full time student, I am a part time employee at Big 5 Sporting Goods. It’s really nice to be able to earn money instead of asking my parents for it.
The future I see for myself seems really far from where I am today, but it won’t stop me from trying my hardest to get to where I want to be. In the future I will continue my education, I'm not sure where I want to transfer to yet. After college, I want to either get a job at a restaurant or a pastry shop so that I can get experience. The reason for this is because I want to eventually open up my own pastry shop.

  1. Getting that experience at the pastry shop would be so beneficial to your decision in opening one. You won't know until you try it. I dreamed about becoming a wrestler and first day of wrestling class I hated it so just to try out the pastry shop would really help out.

  2. It's good that you want to make your own money, I have the same feeling with my parents. I don't like asking them for money so I had to get a job to support myself. I wish you the best in your future and I hope you achieve you goal to open your own pastry shop.
